*This project is a typical example of a post-war row house in New York City. This type of residential architecture was primarily built between the late 1940s and 1960s as middle-class housing during a period of rapid population growth; its original inhabitants included construction workers who built the Empire State Building. These homes, mostly located in Queens (such as Jackson Heights and Forest Hills), Brooklyn, and the Bronx, are characterized by functionality, red-brick facades, spacious layouts, and modern amenities (such as built-in garages), replacing the earlier brownstone style.
